Burg.Co: 'NU NU' on the Mainland
Burg. Co
Isaac John Road
GRA Ikeja, Lagos
Been wondering what the building was when it was being renovated, didn't expect a food place but we glad. I kept getting calls in December asking if I had tried the place out. Busy December and the regular under appreciation of what is at home (Mainland) made me over look this spot. Anyways found time to visit finally.
Food
I had the day's kitchen special which was the 'Big Daddy Burg', which was totally influenced by their Instagram story of the day. Its a 3 layer beef Patty burger with Bacon sprinkles and cheese overload. Daunting task. Took maybe 5 minutes to decide how best to tackle it without creating a mess. Final move was to ask for one of the longer knives I've seen from the kitchen to cut it in half.
I must admit I really liked the first bite, and kept at it. The Patty was done interestingly, it had some kind of taste and had none of that rubber like taste/after taste you get with burgers from most joints. The bun was soft too, noteworthy. I had to stop midway on the second half, it was getting too "beefy"for me if that makes any sense.
Anyways I bought 3 burgers on this day, and everyone who received one said it was pretty decent. So I guess they're doing good.
Ambience
The spot has an open space called the 'secret garden'. I never do outdoors because of heat, so I'm sure it will make sense for someone else. The decor is quite simple. The decision for chairs aren't too weight/width friendly. The lights would definitely make for a nice Instagram picture. This is also one of those spots where you have to go get your food at the counter, guess that reduces waiting staff overhead.

Cost
Burgers are from N3,500 - N5,500. I'm not a burger person so I can't tell if this is value for money spent. If you're eating it every other day then I think it's a fair amount. The potato fries on the other hand is a puzzlement; Bill said it was about N3,000, it came in the twin cup of what Coldstone sells the medium ice cream in. How much is a bag of fries again?
Experience
I liked it. I will go back again. Whenever I feel like a burger again. I sincerely hope they are aware of the Mainland market, and how we don't appreciate anything that costs more than Bukka styled food.
