I’ve been looking for new places to visit in Lagos, and this was a welcome suggestion. Although I had gotten prior reviews from friends and as well online, I somehow felt like I had been there too.
I here the location is much more different at night though, maybe some other time.

Food
I honestly didn’t expect too much seeing as it’s foreign owned or managed restaurant. I say this because once you’ve been to one, it’s like you’ve been to the others. The food is usually the same, as well as the menu. I ordered the ‘Prawn Pappardelle’ cause it seemed like the only thing that jumped out to me. My lunch partner was way more confused than I was; had to switch orders like two times and finally settled for the waiters recommendation on the ‘Chicken Katsu’.
When my plate landed, I almost lost my mind with the portion but then again it’s a “posh pad” and I had to regain composure (more plate than food). The chicken katsu is basically breaded chicken fillet with something called dirty rice.

My pappardelle had this ingredient I couldn’t place my hand on, clocked it could be Olive Oil. Strange, I wasn’t digging it till i reached that realization. The prawns and pasta were top notch, not so keen on the tomato sauce thing it came in, didn’t stop me from wiping the plate. The Katsu was nice, thought it would be freezer fillet but it didn't really taste like.
Ambience
Ohhh, loved it. It’s like a dark version of Craft Gourmet. I like darker spaces, so it banged for me. The chairs were nice, the room temperature on the other hand wasn’t it initially, but after numerous complaints they turned the cooling on. Trying to roast a brother (side eye). The waiters were also helpful and easily accessible than some places I visit regularly where I have to raise my voice to get help.

I always heard it was very pricey here, online reviews have the dreaded ‘$$$$’ as a reference point. I guess it was fair (Lagos comparison), seeing as I only had lunch and a drink. Certainly if you decide to add starters and dessert, you can take up the final bill with the Presidency. One scoop of ice-cream is N1,200, so you get the picture I’m trying to illustrate.
Experience
It was cool, food made no serious impression on me to compel me to return. Maybe if there’s something new on the menu I’d consider going back. Also, what’s the thing with not being able to park inside (Utopia does the same).
