I'm not sure which I like more; the ocean view sitting area, or the food served here. One thing though, this is a fine establishment wherever you get to sit. First time I came here was for drinks with friends, I'm not a cocktail person and can not remember why I felt pressured to order one instead of my regular Lager and Sprite combo (actually I know, there was a cute girl on the table). 

The second and third time was with cousins, we haven't been in the same place at the same time for about two decades now - so Reunion. 

Food

7 persons in all and we went at the menu like crazed bulls, bad mistake lol. I had the Fish and Chips and Chilli Fries, with my cousins ordering Club Sandwich, Jumbo Combo Platter, Hickory Smoked Ribs, Hickory Barbecue Bacon Cheese Burger and a good ol' bottle of Glenfiddich 12YO Whiskey. We didn't consider that almost all orders came with Fries, BRUH, it was raining potatoes in there.

The food was pretty good, had no complaints from anyone on the table. Well I had an issue with my Fish and Chips (I've come to understand it is a Lagos thing); Lagos restaurants buy frozen Line Fish, don't wait for it to defrost properly, bread it and deep fry. So basically you can taste that freezer action in the flipping HOT but COLD tasting fish. My chilli fries also came one step to proper cold, wasn't bad but who likes cold fries 😖. 

Also you might want to crosscheck that what is stated in the Menu for the Jumbo Combo is what you got; ordered it on two occasions and it differed.

Ambience

Hard Rock is very American (I've never been, but yeah Hollywood) with the decor, it is not too brightly lit and that's probably why I like it a bit. The music is modern day Nigerian, which is good. The waiters on the other hand are extremely worked, I literally had to turn my phone camera flashlight on to get someone's attention. They look straight at you but don't see you. Your main aim should be to sit outside; ocean breeze is great. Although, we were told we had to buy a bottle to sit outside.

Cost

Starters range from about N3,000 (Chilli Fries) to N8,500 (Jumbo Combo Platter), main course anywhere from N6,500 (Burger). The dessert menu is like N4,000 for a piece of cake or something, closed that part swiftly. Food coupled with the location advantages, I guess their prices are considerate. In property, anything oceanfront must command a higher price. Bill for the "Unofficial Cousins Reunion" was about N74,000 (which isn't bad). 

Experience

Hard Rock is perfect for after work drinks with colleagues on a Friday, Saturday chilled date with your ‘other’ and Family Brunch with the Family on Sunday. I'd easily go back here anytime, easily.
